BY AIRBLOCK ISLAND AIRPORT (BID) Block Island state airport is a vacation destination for thousands of passengers each year arriving on New England airlines. The airport also serves the community’s critical needs by providing access for time-sensitive cargo and urgent medical transport. Bethany’s, the on-airport restaurant, is a popular destination for the new England GA community. The terminal has a welcoming atmosphere and is located within walking distance of downtown New Shoreham and Block Island’s free beaches. Various local companies offer charter service to area airports, for information Contact the airport: 401-466-5511, www.blockisland.stateairportri.com NEW ENGLAND AIRLINES New England Airlines has been providing daily scheduled air service to Block Island as a certificated Commuter Airline since 1970. Air services, provided by New England Airlines, are offered daily (year round) from Westerly, RI. Westerly, located just off Interstate 95 is an easy drive, or train ride from anywhere in New England. (AMTRAK serves Westerly with daily trains between Washington/New York and Boston). Flight time between Westerly and Block Island is 12 minutes. Parking at the Westerly airport is FREE! New England Airlines also offers charter flights to airports throughout New England. FLY THE WHALE Flights between Block Island and Westerly will begin November 4, 2024, offering four daily round trips Monday through Friday. FTW offers exceptional frequent travel commuter pass programs including WhalePass for individuals and WhalePak for businesses and families. Additionally, FTW will also offer counter-to-counter freight transport services. Fares starting at $75.00 each way based upon a round-trip purchase. BY FERRYBlock Island Ferry: provides year-round service from Point Judith, RI. This is the only Ferry that can take vehicles to the island and reservations for vehicles are required. Passenger reservations are recommended. For information please visit www.blockislandferry.com or call (401) 783-4613. Block Island Hi-Speed Ferry: A state-of-the-art High Speed Catamaran, the high-speed ferry sails mid-May through mid-Oct. The ferry departs from the State Pier in Point Judith, R.I. and docks in Old Harbor in under 30 minutes. Please visit www.blockislandferry.com for schedules and more information or call (401) 783-4613 Newport to Block Island Ferry: The high speed "Islander" ferry is currently running through August. The ferry runs from Downtown Newport (Perrotti Park) and Old Harbor, Block Island, taking one hour. For schedule and fare information visit www.blockislandferry.com. Block Island Express: Connects New London, CT and Old Harbor, Block Island in just over one hour on a high-speed catamaran. The terminal in New London is located next to the train station and limited parking is available with a municipal garage across the street. This ferry runs May through September only. Visit www.goblockisland.com for schedules and more information. Block Island Express - Orient Point: Connecting Orient Point, NY and Block Island. To travel between Long Island and Block Island there are two options. You can connect via Cross Sound Ferry from Orient Point and transfer to the Block Island Express in New London and starting June 23, 2023, improved direct service between Orient Point and Block Island! Schedule at www.goblockisland.com Viking Fast Ferry: Connects Montauk, NY to New Harbor, Block Island in about one hour via high speed ferry. Ferry runs Memorial Day through Labor Day only. ONCE YOU ARRIVETransportation Options: Bicycles & Mopeds: Perfect for exploring the island’s 17 miles of beaches and scenic trails. Rentals are available at several locations near the ferry terminal. Taxis: Island taxis operate year-round, offering convenient rides to the resort and other attractions. Car Rentals: Reserve a vehicle to explore Block Island at your own pace. Shuttle Service: Block Island Resorts offers a complimentary shuttle for guests to and from the ferry terminal and airport.

BY BOATNEW HARBOR Located on the West Side of the Island, in the beautiful Great Salt Pond. New Harbor has 3 large marinas, 90 town moorings and a 75 acre anchorage for vessels. The Harbormaster's Office is located at the Block Island Boat Basin during the summer season. The Harbormaster can be contacted on VHF CH 12 once you arrive in New Harbor. Moorings can be rented for $50 per night and can accommodate vessels up to 50 feet. Reservations are not taken as they are first come first serve. It is a 3 minute taxi ride or 15 minute walk from New Harbor to town or to Crescent Beach. OLD HARBOR Located on the East Side of the Island is a Harbor of Refuge protected by a breakwater. There is limited space for anchoring which is restricted to seven days in a fourteen day period. Please call the Harbormaster with any questions. Old Harbor is in the center of town and has a small 30 boat marina operated by the Town. Dockage is first come first serve. The Commercial ferry landing is also located in Old Harbor. ChildrenWe welcome children at all of our Resort’s Properties. Rates are based on double occupancy. There is no charge for children under the age of 5. The extra charge for additional guests ages five and older is $25.00 per night. We do not have any cots available, although you are welcome to bring a sleeping bag or air mattress. We are happy to provide sheets and towels for you. Not all rooms are large enough to accommodate additional guests. Please be sure to confirm your accommodations with us if you are traveling with more than two guests.

CookingThere is no cooking permitted in any of our hotel rooms. The exceptions are the Kathryn Sullivan Room, the Farm Apartment, Farm House Suites and the Campbell Cottage. Guests are not permitted to bring their own appliances.

Room KeysYou are responsible to return your keys to the staff at the Front Desk upon check out. If you fail to return your keys, a charge of $20/key will be placed on your credit card on file.

Air ConditioningThere is air-conditioning in all of our accommodations except the Narragansett Inn. There is no air conditioning at the Narragansett Inn.

WifiThere is free limited wi-fi available at the following buildings: The 1661 Inn, Dodge Cottage, and the 1661 Farm & Gardens Properties. There is no wi-fi available at the Hendrickson House or the Narragansett Inn. Internet service on Block Island is slower than what guests are typically accustomed to finding.

Parking, Bikes & ChargingThere is free outdoor parking available for all of our guests at The 1661 Inn and at our farm. There is no parking available at the Hendrickson House, although you are welcome to park at the farm. There is limited parking available at the Dodge Cottage (overflow parking is available at the farm). The only parking at the Dodge Cottage is all the way around the back-not on the lawn (this includes scooters). There are outdoor bike racks available at all of our buildings. Unfortunately, we do not have any indoor bike storage available. Fire Marshall regulations prohibit bringing bicycles into your rooms or in the hallways and this is strictly enforced. We do suggest that you bring a lock with you. We do not permit charging of Electric vehicles, bikes and lithium batteries at any of our properties. There is a charging station at the Block Island Power Company for electric vehicles.

Check-InAll guests should check in at the 1661 Inn on Spring Street. Guest rooms are usually ready for occupancy by 3 pm. Please come to The 1661 Inn when you arrive to the Island. If your room is ready early, you may check-in early and if not you may leave your luggage in our lobby (security cameras on location). Please have a photo ID and credit card ready at the Front Desk. Only the person whose name is on the reservation will be allowed to check in. You must be 21 to check-in to your room.

The 1661 BreakfastIn the off season from October 1st until Memorial Day, we will be offering a Complimentary Continental breakfast. For 2025 we will be offering our Champagne Buffet Breakfast from Memorial Day Weekend until October 1 at The 1661 Inn. Guests of the resort will receive a reduced rate of $15.00 per person and complimentary mimosas. There is no charge for children five and under and breakfast for children ages six to twelve is $8.00 per child.

Deposit & Cancellation PolicyAll stays must be pre-paid in full at the time of reservation. We accept Visa, Master, and Discover cards – no American Express. All cancellations are charged a fee of 10% of the reservation amount and must be made at least 15 days prior to arrival. In the fourteen days immediately prior to arrival the full reservation cost is NON-REFUNDABLE and no changes are permitted to the reservation. No credits or refunds will be given for early departures or no shows. If you are travelling via Montauk, Orient Point or New London ferries and they are cancelled; you will still be responsible for your reservation if the ferries from Pt. Judith and the planes from Westerly are flying. We do not re-rent rooms or offer credits for future use in the event you can not make your scheduled reservation. However, you are welcome to gift your scheduled stay to a friend or family member, just let us know their name. If you need to make a change to your reservations, please let us know. There is no “fee” for changing, but if your change results in a credit to your credit card, there will be a 10% cancellation fee assessed on the credit amount. Any changes made MUST still meet minimum night requirements (Most weekends or holidays require at least a 3 night minimum stay as well as any stay in July or August on week days is a 2 night minimum). Because of credit card regulations, all cancellations for reservations within two weeks of arrival must be received in writing. Please be sure to note your confirmation number and your name. If you have booked through an on-line reservation service (i.e. Expedia, Hotels.com, Booking.com, etc.), you will need to cancel directly through that service. They will then notify us in writing of your cancellation. For group reservations (eight rooms or more), advance notice of six weeks is required for multiple cancellations or changes to the reservations

SmokingThere is no smoking (including cigarettes, marijuana or e-cigarettes) allowed on property. Candles, incense, essential oils (diffusing, vaporizing, etc.) are prohibited. Guests or members of the public who breach the policy will be asked to stop smoking and if they fail to comply will be asked to leave the premises. A $500 fee will be charged to the credit card on file for any violation of this policy.

Lost and Found PolicyThe 1661 Resort assumes no liability for lost, misplaced, stolen, or damaged valuables or belongings. If you discover that you have left behind something of value to you, please call us immediately 401-466-2421 or email office@biresorts.com and we will try to assist you in locating your lost item. The 1661 Inn is not responsible for any item left behind by a guest, this includes luggage left in the lobby. However, any item, with the exception of perishable items, left behind by our guests and found after departure by Housekeeping will be collected, logged in, and kept in a secure location for collection by the owner for up to fourteen (14) days. Reasonable effort will be made to notify the guest that an item has been found. Perishable items, underwear, and miscellaneous toiletries are discarded.

Quiet Season VisitsIf you are visiting the Island between November and mid-May, please note that you will find dining options to be limited. During these dates (particularly December through March), there are sometimes days when there are no full service restaurants open and the restaurants that are open do not always have predictable schedules. The grocery store is open year-round with a consistent schedule. The only ferry that runs year round is from Pt. Judith, RI (www.blockislandferry.com).

Typical Minimum Night Stay RequirementsLength of stay requirements differ depending on the type of accommodation and the time of year. Generally, Summer & Holiday Weekends may require a three or four-night minimum and Spring & Fall Weekends require two nights. Winter typically has no minimum stay requirements. Occasionally, shorter weekend stays are available. Please visit our website or call our reservations office to check specific availability.

Damage and/or Theft of Hotel PropertyYou are liable for any damage (whether by deliberate, negligent, or reckless act) to the room(s), hotel’s premises or property caused by you or any person in your party, whether or not staying at the hotel during your stay.

Noise Complaints & PartiesThe 1661 Resort enforces quiet hours from 10:00 pm – 8:00 am to ensure our guests peace and comfort. No parties, loud disturbances and/or noise-nuisances are allowed or tolerated on any property. In the event of a disturbance, you may be asked to leave the hotel without refund or assessed a Guest Compensation Disturbance Fee.

Arrivals & DepaturesAll guests should check in at The 1661 Inn on Spring Street. If you are staying at the Narragansett, please check in at the Front Desk at the Narragansett location in New Harbor. Guest rooms are usually ready for occupancy by 3:00 p.m. Please come to The 1661 Inn when you arrive to the Island. If your room is ready early, you may check-in early and if not you may leave your luggage in our lobby (security cameras on location). Check out is by 11:00am. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate late check-out requests. Luggage storage in our lobby is also available upon departure. Additionally, we have a shower available at The 1661 Inn for all of our guests who would like to enjoy the full day on Block Island and clean up before leaving the Island after 11:00am.

PetsSorry, pets and support animals are not allowed at most of our properties. Service animals are permitted as required by law. Well behaved dogs are permitted at the Campbell Cottage. (2 dogs maximum, with approval and pet fee) The 1661 Resort will apply a $500 cleaning fee to any guest room that violates this policy.

Check-outCheckout is at 11:00 am. Please return your keys to the Front Desk upon checkout. The bellhop is available to take you to the airport or ferry landings upon departure (complimentary). To make a reservation, please ask the front desk before noon on the day of your departure. If you fail to checkout by 11:00 am, you may be assessed a late check out fee.

WHAT'S INCLUDEDOur CSA shares feature a variety of fresh, seasonal items, such as: Swiss Chard, Lettuce Mix, Kohlrabi, Parsley, Basil, Kale, Beets, Radish, and more. You can find the expected harvest overview for each month on the website and will be shared in our Online CSA Group. This season Eggs are unavailable.

MEMBERSHIP PRICINGOur Standard CSA Membership is $320 per season. Existing Members: The previous year’s members will get first priority and a 10% discount 2025 Memberships. Serving a big group or family? If you want to double (or triple) your produce, please add the quantity in the registration. Flowers: You can add fresh seasonal flowers to your membership for $130 at checkout. Online Processing Fee: There is a 2.9% processing fee at checkout.

WHAT IS THE 1661 FARM & GARDENS CSA PROGRAM?Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a sustainable model that connects consumers directly with local farms. By purchasing a share of the 1661 Farm & Garden’s harvest in advance, our members help support the farm throughout the growing season. In return, they receive a weekly box of fresh, seasonal produce. All of our crops are grown without pesticides, chemicals, or synthetic fertilizers, ensuring the highest quality, naturally grown food. Everything is cultivated with care at the 1661 Farm & Gardens on beautiful Block Island!
